POSTAL 2 Showcased in Swedish Museum Exhibit!The exhibition, which was originally produced by the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, Norway, contains, according to Mr. Skog, “a part that deals with censorship in games. In it we would like to use the game ”POSTAL 2” as an example. First of all; the game was on trial in Swedish court, but was acquitted a couple of years ago. For the trial a DVD with gameplay was prepared and shown in court. We would like to use footage from that DVD in our exhibition.” Having something of a heavy crush on freedom of speech ourselves, RWS was only too happy to cooperate, brushing away any copyright issues and even providing the museum with cover art from the game. There is, of course, a certain synchronicity to the fact that Alfred Nobel, who funded the museum to help enhance his Nobel Peace Prize, made much of his fortune through the manufacture of explosives, gun powder and war machines (though he never did develop a Badger Chainsaw to the best of our knowledge). But Nobel was no greed-driven war profiteer who “got religion” before his death. His vision of a peace prize and an entire structure of foundations and organizations to make it matter demonstrate that he possessed a penetrating and deeply ethical mind. We also believe that, were he alive today, he’d be working with Tim on a new MOD for POSTAL 2.
