Running With Scissors' Gladiator Drew Fickett Set to Go POSTAL on Ultimate Fight Night
Enters the UFC’s Octagon on August 6 Live on Spike TV!
Tucson, AZ Running With Scissors' own Ultimate Fighter, Drew "The Master" Fickett (26-3-0), will help make history when he takes on Josh "The Dentist" Neer (13-1-1) as part of the first live Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event to be broadcast free on basic cable, Saturday, August 6 from the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.
Neer was originally slated to face Jayson "Mayhem" Miller during the "Ultimate Fight Night" broadcast on Spike TV, but Mayhem pulled out, opening the door for the RWS-sponsored Fickett, who should still be pumped after choking out Utah’s Brandon Melendez at July 30's "Ring of Fire 18: River Valley Rumble" event halfway through the first round.
"This will be Drew's second go-round in a UFC match," observed Running With Scissors own "Vicious" Vince Desi, "and we all expect him to do us proud. When he hits the octagon in his POSTAL T-shirt, he will be unbeatable."
A skilled wrestler and martial artist (with a specialty in Muay Thai disciplines), the Tucson-based Fickett is also a devoted video and computer game fan with a special love for the POSTAL series. Asked if he was looking forward to his upcoming shot at the UFC, Drew acknowledged that he's always ready for a fight. "I'm also looking forward to scoring a quick knockout or submission so I can finally get home and play [the recently released] POSTAL2: Apocalypse Weekend," he confessed. "When you're in training, you have to give up a lot of your favorite things."
The live action begins at 7:15 p.m. ET/4:15 p.m. PT and Spike TV’s cable telecast kicks off at 9 p.m. ET/PT (tape delay), while Satellite is Live at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT
