Tucson, AZ The juggernaut of mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters
dubbed "Team POSTAL" sponsored by the world's most dangerous software
company has run its collective record to 9-1 as Chad Griggs stamped,
folded and otherwise mutilated Jon Tsosie in a crushing 45 second first
round victory at Rage in the Cage 82 (RITC 82).
 With
Running With Scissors CEO and Royce Gracie look-alike Vince Desi
cheering on his protégé from a ringside seat at Tucson's Desert Diamond
Casino, hometown hero and Tucson fireman Chad Griggs took his MMA record
to 5-0 with a victory that had Desi apoplectic. "I'm so proud of Chad
Griggs," Vince raved. "He represents RWS with pure POSTAL adrenaline. I
honestly feared for his opponent, so I had a drink for him. No prayer
could have saved him."
Chad was typically self-effacing post-fight, giving
all the props to his training partners, including fellow Team POSTAL
members Shane Johnson and Ed West. But the 234 lb. bone-smasher did admit
that he actually passed up several submission opportunities when Tsosie,
the 237 lb. RITC Native American Champion, inadvertently failed to protect
an arm. "I could have gone for the arm bar a few times, but the crowd
seems to enjoy the ground and pound," the people-pleasing Griggs confessed.
"Besides, I'd rather have a TKO on my record than a submission."
"Standing ringside, I saw with my own eyes the
transformation from nice guy firefighter to Chad the Postal Punisher,"
Desi declared.
