Installing The Server
To install a dedicated server, simply create
a folder where you want to install the server and extract the contents of
the download into that folder. A demo server requires about 124 MB of drive
space, while a full server requires about 395 MB.
Installing Patches & Hot Fixes
To install a patch or hotfix, simply stop the server, put the downloaded
file into the base folder where you installed the game, and extract the
files from it. Make sure you extract with folder/directory info, and make
sure you tell it to overwrite any existing files.
Be sure to check the text file included with the download for any additional
instructions.
Then start the server again.
Starting The Server
To start the server, go into the system folder and type:
runserver mpdgt-cemetery-demo.fuk
or
runserver mpdgt-cemetery.fuk
It's very important to use "runserver" instead of using "ucc" directly because
if the game should crash (which does happen from time to time) the "runserver" batch file will automatically start the game
back up again. If you use "ucc" directly, the game will stop
and you'll have to manually start it up again.
Configuring The Server
If you want to change the default ports or the server name or anything
else, you'll have to edit the postal2.ini file. The format is similar to
Unreal Tournament or UT2003 ini files.
Alternately, you could enable the Web Admin option in the game and
then use any web browser to connect to the game and configure it.
