How To Start Multiplayer LAN Games

Starting A LAN Game

You will need 2 or more computers connected to your Local Area Network. Pick one computer to "host" the game and then all the other computers will "join" the game.

Start the game on all the computers. Click MULTIPLAYER on the main menu and then click PLAYER SETUP. Enter a name and pick a character, then click BACK.

On the host computer only, click HOST GAME. The tabs across the top of the window let you choose the game type, maps, game settings, modifiers, teams, and server settings. For now, leave all the default settings and click START.

On all the other computers, click JOIN GAME. The tabs across the top of the window let you read news, chat with players, and find games to join. Click the LAN tab to see the games on your LAN. It can take a few moments before a new game appears so if the list is empty click the REFRESH button every few seconds. When the game appears, simply double-click on it to join.
