It's Earth, Dumbass

Aw your country banned Postal? Slap 'em with a download in their faces!

Toss another shrimp on the barbee, Australia! Brazil, prepare to go Carnivale! New Zealand, Korea and the host of other countries whose citizens have been unfairly denied their birthright to play the video and computer games of their choice can finally rejoice!

Running With Scissors (RWS), the World's Most Dangerous Software Company has cut through the bureaucratic, political and censorial red tape to make the POSTAL computer games universally available!

GET THE FULL SCOOP!

Newsletter

Just like the dead Santa stuck in your chimney, The RWS Newsletter is the smell of holiday cheer that lingers...

This month we celebrate Chrismahanukwanzakah! (hey, I know Virgin Mobile made that up, but that merely makes it as "real" as Kwanzaa and as far as I'm concerned is just exactly what all the whiney, divisive religious fanatics deserve. Can't we all just get along? No? Then prepare to be mocked! "Peace tree" my fucking ass! Though now that I think about it, is "Gay Elf" really a religion?)

Inside your leather, feces-smeared holiday stocking you will find The Gimp feeling left out, some mind-expanding ancient videogame history courtesy of The Game Doctor, some gift ideas for your friends and enemies and more POSTAL BABES than you can shake your Yule Log to!

READY? GO!

RWS' Fighthers are Unstoppable!

Running With Scissors' classic logo has proven to be a great talisman as the Mixed Martial Arts fighters that bear the almighty have been on a wild win streak! Drew "The Master" Fickett, Hayley "The Hammer" Salazar, Ed West, Shane Johnson and Chad Griggs, all of them got our bless but they've got the skills to prove it!

Ed West

MMA Lightweight Champ Ed West Joins RWS Stable of Super Badasses!

Ed promised to demonstrate the meaning of "going postal" on his opponent and went directly to work proving it earlier this week at the Desert Diamond Casino. He quickly locked a vise-like armbar on Reynaldo "I'm Not From Your Country" Duarte that looked like it might end the match early, but somehow Duarte managed to escape and made it through the entire match with a broken arm. Which must be extra humiliating considering that Ed won the match anyway.

Newsletter

Just like that steaming bowl of rancid truckstop chili, RWS' infamous monthly Newsletter keeps coming up on ya.

In celebration of Halloween, we present you the special Scary Edition of The Urinal! Among the sphincter-tingling tales of terror are more details on Uwe Boll's impending cinematic POSTAL atrocity, The Gimp whines about game ratings and we feature the decidedly UN-scary Suzanne Stokes as this month's P-Babe.

Plus: I make fun of how expensive the Cafe Press stuff is!

YOU NEED IT.

POSTAL Movie

Just like Mike J says: "The POSTAL Movie news is spreading faster than AIDs in a room full of monkeys."

Latest on the bandwagon is MTV news! It's almost enough to make me take back some of the terrible things I said about them when they stopped showing videos and started running that awful Real World crap. Almost.

READ IT.

POSTAL Movie

RWS Has just signed a deal with infamous German film director Uwe Boll to inflict POSTAL on Hollywood! That's right, UWE BOLL. Got a problem with that? Tough shit. In what may well be a unique twist, RWS will be intimately involved in the creative side of the production, consulting on the script and bitchslapping Uwe on a daily basis to ensure that the cinematic version of POSTAL lives up to the insane hilarity of the original.

So stop yer cryin' and start thinking about how OUR videogame movie is going to mash the heads off of all the other videogame movies with a shovel and piss down their collective neck holes. Besides, it can't possibly be any worse than Doom...

Press Release

Okay, this news is a couple of weeks old. I fucked up. I ADMIT IT: I FUCKED UP. I forgot to post news of the damn Mac/Linux release of Apocalypse Weekend. Forgot like a cracked-out test chimp. Yep. Completely slipped my mind. Sorry.

So without further ado, you now know we've released the Mac/Linux port of the unawardwinning Postal 2 singleplayer add-on pack: Apocalypse Weekend. There.

Click HERE to see the ancient, moldering press release from the halcyon days of a couple of weeks ago.

Press Release

Drew and Hayley crush their enemies and hear the lamentations of the women...

That's right, the growing stable of RWS ultimate badasses mopped up the mat with their opponents in UFC and Rage In The Cage bouts this week. Drew "The Master" Fickett knocked out UFC's reality TV show pretty boy Josh Koscheck in the third round this past Monday night at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Not to be Outdone, Hayley "The Hammer" Salazar pounded Nicole Escobido so relentlessly that the girl gave up after one round! Booyeah!

TELL ME MORE...

Press Release

What's that smell? It's this month's Urinal!

The latest issue of our unawardwinning newsletter is chock full of gratuitous babeness, just the way you like it! Well, most of you anyway. If for some reason you're a complete pansy and can't stomach graphic images of super-hotties being all sexy and wielding shovels, then there's always the Postal movie made entirely of Legos...

Go HERE, just don't eat the lil' mint...

Press Release

POSTAL 2 / Apocalypse Weekend gets glowing review from Tech-Mods.net!

At Tech-mods.net where they apparently review the future, Wayne Ihamaki is clearly running amok. I quote: "If you can remember how outrageous a chainsaw was in Doom, that's what this game is like only 100 times more outrageous." Yeah. 100 TIMES, beyotch. Take THAT mister "I AM a rocket scientist, actually" Carmack and "Is my hair all good?" Romero. We RULE.

We at RWS wish Mr. Ihamaki all the best in whatever his new career will be.

Violence
The Scottsdale Times takes a hard, penetrating look into the trend of finger-pointing towards videogames as the cause of teen violence.

Vince Desi, Steve Wik and Mike Jaret all speak thier tiny minds on the issue, but unfortunately all the good nazi/porn references ended up on the cutting room floor. Arch-enemy Jack Thompson even manages to stop chasing ambulances long enough contribute some pretzel-logic to the proceedings.

RWS Newsletter
APRIL FOOLS MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!!! Kamek has consistently come up with amazing mods for Postal 2 and will continue to do so. On that note, the seriousness of piracy is always going to be a problem, so if you love a game, support the game company by purchasing it instead of warezing it.

Nuff' said.

Many of you have had the luck to enjoy the hard work of Kamek (AKA: Rick Foltz) in his extensive roll in modding for Postal 2 Multiplayer. Unfortunately, we here at RWS insist on zero tolerance, when it comes to piracy.

Kamek, you have served us well, but because of your actions, we unfortunately cannot allow you to be a part of the RWS community any longer.

It seems that the Michigan State House is lining up right behind Illinois in the bid to become the first to pass their own unconstitutional videogame laws...

RWS Newsletter

Over at the Washington Post there's an interesting article about RWS. Surprisingly they didn't burn us at the stake! If you want to check out sort of an alternate-universe RWS that's all cuddly and hates violence, check it out HERE.

Warning, there are potential Apocalypse Weekend and Postal 3 spoilers in there, you have been warned!

RWS Newsletter

It seems that the Illinois State House of Representatives are taking the lead in the battle against intelligence and have actually passed governor Rod Blagojevich's vaguely worded violent video game legislation with "overwhelming support"!

What really makes this parade of chromosome damaged poster-people amusing is the fact that they, elected officials entrusted with upholding the law and the Constitution, are openly saying things like: "I support this bill. A strong message has to be sent. The truth of the matter is that bill is unconstitutional as drafted. The truth of the matter is it's vague."

So, way to go Illinois! Show that silly Constitution who's boss! I guess Illinois must be a REALLY nice place to live, what with there being no REAL issues to spend tax payer money trying to solve. Let's hope the Illinois House takes a well-deserved vacation after this glorious win. Check it out HERE.

Just so you don't think America has cornered the market on government morons, check this out... in Sweden there's an exciting new trial coming up, the Swedish distributor of Postal 2 is actually going to be tried for "distribution of a criminal depiction of violence"! Which I guess could also be applied to things like, oh, EVERY ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCT EVER MADE. -or The Bible.

There hasn't been any coverage in english yet, but our trusty Swedish away-team tell us:
Last fall a lobby group produced an inflammatory documentary called ”Deadly Games” which aired on TV4. The documentary linked killings in Little Rock and Erfurt with computer games. Clips were shown from a number of games, and the Postal 2 clips in particular got the Swedish Family Minister upset.

The Family Minister urged the Chancellor of Justice to investigate the game, and they did, resulting in charges being brought against the Swedish distributor of Postal 2.

The case is being tried in a court in Helsingborg later this year, the date has not yet set.

Also over at the Washington Post, buried way in the back, there's an amusing article about a youth-based initiative (of two guys) to picket Best Buy and try to get kids to stop buying GTA. That's what I love about society. Let's forget about sheltering the homeless, feeding the starving and caring for the sick, there's far more important things to worry about like video games and the Major League Baseball steroid controversy.

Morons.

It has come to our attention that there is a bug in Win XP SP2 that affects the CD autorun feature on some discs. Apparently, the Postal family of products are among those affected. This means that if you are trying to install one of the Postal games or add-on packs, the disc may not automatically launch the installer for you. No need to panic waiting for Microsoft to pull their thumb out of their ass, here is an easy workaround:

1. Right-click on the drive containing the Postal2 CD
2. In the menu that appears, click "Open"
3. Double-click on the "Setup" application.
